Studio clinico su Astrion®: l'efficacia dimostrata in laboratorio

Clinical study on Astrion®: efficacy demonstrated in the laboratory

Vulvovaginal atrophy, common in menopause but also present in other conditions in youth, is characterized by dryness, irritation and loss of elasticity of the tissues . A key element to combat these symptoms is the stimulation of endogenous collagen production . Astrion®, an innovative ingredient based on extracts of Astragalus and Centella asiatica , supports skin health and significantly soothes the symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy, thanks to its ability to promote endogenous collagen synthesis .

How and why was the study conducted?

The independent study on Astrion® aimed to evaluate its ability to increase the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, both in the skin and in the tissues involved in vulvo-vaginal atrophy. These two components are essential for maintaining the integrity and hydration of the tissues, counteracting dryness and loss of elasticity. Astrion® works by stimulating the internal production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, with benefits that extend to both the skin and vaginal tissues(Astrion Product Dossier…).

What do the results show?

The independent clinical study has shown that Astrion® significantly improves collagen synthesis , which is essential for maintaining tissue structure. Specifically, collagen production increased by 80% in dermal cells and 20% in epidermal cells. The results of the clinical study indicate that Astrion® improves skin quality and helps maintain the integrity of vaginal tissues, reducing the symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy.

In particular, studies have shown a significant increase in telomerase activity in epidermal cells and a 50% reduction in the production of metalloproteinases MMP-1 and MMP-3, enzymes that degrade collagen. The 30% increase in the expression of the HAS2 gene, responsible for the synthesis of hyaluronic acid , further underlines the regenerative potential of Astrion® for tissues affected by vulvo-vaginal atrophy.

For these reasons Astrion® represents a natural and effective solution to combat the signs of skin aging and to alleviate the discomforts of vulvo-vaginal atrophy, triggering a profound mechanism of cellular renewal and repair of damaged vaginal tissues.

Why can we trust the results?

Studies on Astrion® were conducted following rigorous scientific protocols both in vitro and in vivo . In vitro tests were performed on human dermal and epidermal cells using advanced methods such as Western Blot and ELISA to precisely measure the increase in collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis. These studies included analysis of proline uptake and HAS2 gene expression, confirming that Astrion® effectively stimulates the production of these essential components.

In addition, a clinical study was conducted on a sample of volunteers , with rigorous measurements taken both before and after treatment with Astrion®. Environmental conditions and standardization of measurements (such as the use of scientific instruments to evaluate pH, wrinkles and melanin index) ensure the reliability of the data collected. The study design included comparisons between subjects whose faces had been treated with Astrion® and others treated with a placebo, minimizing bias and ensuring an objective assessment of the results.
