Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup is an over-the-counter mucolytic and expectorant drug based on carbocysteine salt of lysine source. Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup is indicated in the treatment of wet cough and as a fluidifier to expectorate phlegm in acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system.
Thanks to its composition, Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup helps dissolve mucus, alleviating the symptoms of flu, cold and wet cough .

How to take Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup?
To open the bottle of Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml, press firmly on the cap and turn anticlockwise at the same time.
Adults : take 15 ml of Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup, 2 or 3 times a day, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor.
Children aged 5 and over : take 5 ml of Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup, 2 or 3 times a day, unless otherwise indicated by the doctor.
Children from 2 to 5 years old : take 2.5 ml of Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup, 2 or 3 times a day, unless otherwise indicated by the doctor.
It can also be used by celiac patients and patients with phenylketonuria.
Use only for short periods of treatment, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor.
Active Ingredients and Excipients Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml 90 mg / ml
1 ml of Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup contains:
Active ingredient : carbocisteine lysine salt monohydrate equal to 90 mg of carbocisteine lysine salt;
Excipients : sucrose, natural cherry flavor, methyl para-hydroxybenzoate, caramel, purified water.
Contraindications Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml 90 mg / ml
Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml is contraindicated in case of:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Gastroduodenal ulcer.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Children under the age of 2.
Warnings Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml 90 mg / ml
Mucolytics such as Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200ml 90mg / ml can induce bronchial obstruction in children under 2 years of age. In fact, the drainage capacity of the bronchial mucus is limited in this age group, due to the physiological characteristics of the respiratory tract. They should therefore not be used in children younger than 2 years of age. There are no known phenomena of habituation or dependence. Patients with rare hereditary problems of glucose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase enzyme insufficiency should not take this medicinal product. The product contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate, which is known to cause hives. In general, para-hydroxybenzoates can cause delayed reactions such as contact dermatitis and rarely immediate reactions with urticaria and bronchospasm. The syrup does not contain gluten; therefore it can be administered to patients with celiac disease. Does not contain aspartame; therefore it can be administered to patients with phenylketonuria.
Interactions
In controlled clinical trials, no interactions with the most common drugs used in the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract diseases, nor with food and laboratory tests, have been found.

- Skin, subcutaneous tissue disorders: skin rash, urticaria, erythema, exanthema, exanthema/bullous erythema, pruritus, angioedema, dermatitis.
- Gastrointestinal disorders: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
- Nervous system disorders: dizziness.
- Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: dyspnoea.
- Vascular disorders: redness. With mucolytics for oral and rectal use, bronchial obstruction can also occur with unknown frequency.

Can I take Fluifort Mucolytic Syrup 200 ml when pregnant or breastfeeding?
Although the active ingredient is neither teratogenic nor mutagenic and has not shown negative effects on the reproductive function in animals, the medicine must not be administered during pregnancy. Since no data are available on the passage of carbocysteine lysine salt monohydrate into breast milk, its use during lactation is contraindicated.
