Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg Granules is an over-the-counter mucolytic expectorant drug based on N-acetylcysteine. This active ingredient helps dissolve phlegm and eliminate mucus present in the respiratory tract , improving breathing. Fluimucil Granules can be used in case of heavy cough or in case of increased production of thick, viscous mucus .
Posology and method of use of Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg 30 Granulated Sachets
For the treatment of respiratory system diseases, the recommended dose of Fluimucil 200 is 1 sachet (200 mg) per day, preferably in the evening. The duration of therapy in the ranges from 5 to 10 days.
Dissolve the contents of the Fluimucil 200 sachet in a glass containing a little water, stirring as needed with a teaspoon. Do not mix other drugs with the Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg solution

Contraindications Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg 30 Granulated Sachets
Fluimucil Sachets are contraindicated in case of:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients and to other closely related substances from a chemical point of view.
- Children under the age of 2.
- Generally contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Overdose Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg 30 Sachets Granules
No cases of overdose have been reported with regard to oral administration of N-acetylcysteine. Healthy volunteers who took a daily dose of 11.6 g of N-acetylcysteine for three months did not experience any serious adverse reactions. Doses up to 500 mg NAC/kg body weight, administered orally, were tolerated without any symptoms of intoxication. Overdose can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. There are no specific antidotal treatments; overdose therapy is based on symptomatic treatment.
Special warnings Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg 30 Sachets Granules
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Fluimucil 200 Mucolytic. Take this medicine with caution and always under the supervision of your doctor in the following cases:
if you suffer from an inflammatory disease of the bronchi called bronchial asthma. Stop taking Fluimucil Mucolytic immediately if you have contraction of the bronchial muscles (bronchospasm). Consult your doctor even in the event that such disturbances have occurred in the past;
if you suffer or have suffered from a stomach or intestinal problem called peptic ulcer, especially if you are taking other medicines that can cause stomach problems (gastro-damaging medicines) together with Fluimucil Mucolytic.
Fluimucil 200 Mucolytic Granules may increase the volume of bronchial mucus (bronchial secretions), especially at the beginning of treatment. Therefore, if this occurs and you are unable to eliminate the bronchial secretions (expectorate) by coughing, contact your doctor who will indicate a method to eliminate the mucus (postural drainage or bronchoaspiration). If you smell sulfur, don't worry because this does not indicate alteration of the preparation, but is due to N-acetylcysteine.
Laboratory tests: N-acetylcysteine can interfere with some blood and urine tests (color assay for the determination of salicylates and tests to determine ketones). Tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine before having these tests.
Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg contains sorbitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product. Fluimucil Mucolytic contains aspartame. This medicine contains, a source of phenylalanine. It may be harmful if you have phenylketonuria.

Can I take Fluimucil Mucolytic 200 mg Sachets when pregnant or breastfeeding?
Fluimucil Mucolytic has not shown any teratogenic effect, however, as for other drugs, its administration during pregnancy and during the breastfeeding period should be carried out only in case of real need under the direct supervision of the doctor.
