Daflon 500 is a flavonoid -based medicine to counteract the symptoms attributable to venous insufficiency, including hemorrhoids and states of capillary fragility .

Daflon 500 is a vasoprotector with purified micronized flavonoic fraction: this formulation, composed of diosmin and other flavonoids expressed in hesperidin, allows to obtain a beneficial effect on venous tone, microcirculation and lymphatic drainage . The micronization process allows to obtain a fast absorption of the product for a rapid effect .

Daflon 500 is useful in case of:

• Swelling in the ankles and legs.
• Localized sensation in the legs of pain, heaviness, tingling, itching, widespread burning.
• Restless legs.
• Evening or night cramps.
• Varicose veins.
• Skin changes such as hardening, discoloration, eczema or ulceration.
• Fragility of the capillaries such as broken capillaries in the leg, frequent bruising or spontaneous bruising;
• Pain and discomfort attributable to hemorrhoids.

The Purified Micronized Flavonoic Fraction contained in Daflon® 500 exerts its activity at the venous level in various ways, helping to counteract the symptoms at the origin. In particular, Daflon 500 decreases distensibility and reduces stasis. At the microcirculation level, it normalizes permeability and increases capillary resistance .

How to take Daflon 30 Tablets 500mg?

2 film-coated tablets per day (1 at midday and 1 in the evening) at mealtimes, even in venous insufficiency of the haemorrhoidal plexus.

Active Ingredients and Excipients Daflon 30 Coated Tablets 500mg

Active ingredients Daflon: Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg of purified micronized flavonoid fraction consisting of 450 mg of diosmin and 50 mg of flavonoids expressed as hesperidin.

Excipients: Sodium carboxymethyl starch, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, glycerin, hypromellose, sodium laurilsulfate, E172 yellow iron oxide, E 172 red iron oxide, titanium dioxide, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, talc.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Interactions Daflon tablets and other drugs
No interaction studies have been performed. To date, no clinically relevant drug interactions have been reported from post-marketing experience with the product.

Daflon 30 Tablets 500mg Overdose
There is limited experience with Daflon overdose.

The most frequently reported adverse events in overdose cases were gastrointestinal events (such as diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain) and cutaneous events (such as pruritus, rash). Management Management of overdose should consist of treatment of clinical symptoms.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding Daflon 30 Coated Tablets 500mg

Can I take Daflon 500mg when pregnant or breastfeeding?

Pregnancy: Data on the use of micronized purified flavonoic fraction in pregnant women do not exist or are limited in number. Animal studies do not indicate reproductive toxicity. As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of Daflon during pregnancy.

Lactation: It is not known whether the active substance/metabolites are excreted in human milk. A risk to newborns/infants cannot be excluded. A decision must be made whether to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue/abstain from Daflon therapy taking into account the benefit of breast-feeding for the child and the benefit of therapy for the woman.

Fertility: Reproductive toxicity studies have shown no effect on fertility in either male or female rats.
